I've come "on board" so to speak pretty late in the game. I feel however as I've known you forever. Maybe it's that part of you that I've known in myself for all these years that makes me feel so close. I've only "known" Edie for a few months, but she's already become a huge part of my life. I was introducted to her through the Broadway Musical. As strange as she was, I felt connected to her. I then watched the documentary and the connection grew even stronger. I now feel like I know Edie quite well. I get her. I can't figure out what it is about her that makes me love her so much. Dear Edie, Your fortitude, your creativity, your decency and integrity, your expressions of sacrifice and loss, your humor and your charm have touched me deeply.    Now when I need a dose of courage or strength, I think of you. I never will forget the day you walked into my  shop on Waverly Place with your friend Birdie Bloch . You were preparing for  your show at Reno Sweeney's . You charmed me off my feet and they haven't  touched ground since ! I remember after our short introduction and conversation  about the theatre and growing up on Long Island , thinking " my God , I  wish I could have preserved those moments" .
